{ Jennifer + Eric | Palo Alto Wedding Photography }
I had been to Stanford University’s campus once before and I remember thinking how it didn’t feel like a campus at all – it felt like a museum, or some archaic town in Europe. I paid the campus my second visit last month, when I got to accompany the awesome Serena Grace to a wedding in Palo Alto. Before meeting the bride and groom we stopped by Stanford to scout out some cool photo spots and let me tell you, cool photo spots are EVERYWHERE. You could probably run around the campus all day trying to take a bad picture and you’d end up dejected, with a camera full of miserably beautiful pictures. The architecture, the huge quads, the fields of willows – I’m still taken aback by the sheer SPACE on the campus (coming from UCLA aka “Under Construction Like Always”, where every square inch houses a dorm/building/parking structure/sometimes all 3.)
Jen and Eric fit the classic architecture beautifully. They both had such an easy elegance (I fell in love with Jen’s perfect lace gown!) and had a beautiful wedding filled with joy and emotion. I usually try to limit myself to one little tear-sesh a wedding, but I found myself getting choked up during both the ceremony AND the reception. There were so many heartfelt words and feelings exchanged and Jen and Eric’s love between each another, and with their families, filled up the room.
Thank you Jen and Eric for allowing me to witness your special day, and thank you Serena for inviting me to take the little trip up to NorCal to shoot with you!
Starting off at Stanford for some portraits… Jen looked absolutely gorgeous:
Then we headed to the Lucie Stern Community Center and grabbed a few more shots before the ceremony began:
The little pink flowers growing at the altar were absolutely breathtaking!
Both Jen & Eric gave heartfelt thank-you speeches to their mothers…
This was such a cool idea… I love the personal touches couples add to their ceremony! Here the traditional sand ceremony idea is morphed into a thrilling chemistry experiment! LOVED it (even though chemistry was my worst subject ever.)
The cocktail hour was held in the community center’s rustic courtyard:
A few more portraits…
A ring shot (set up by Serena)…
… and the cake!

oh and yeah i’ve seen the sunfish before, but the tank that it’s in is so huge, it’s hard to get a shot of it unless it comes right up to the glass =\

@GERKshinobi – Yeah it was great getting to shoot with her! :)
And you’re right that you have to wait for the sunfish to come up the glass to get a good shot of it… though it makes for an awesome shot when it does (right after you get over your heart attack from seeing that thing up close.)
@pinkchick83 – Thanks so much for having me along!! Really looking forward to shooting with you again next month! :)
@jdai428 – Thank you Jen & Eric! It was such a beautiful wedding and I’m so honored to have been there to help document it. I wish you two all the best! :)
