{ sneaky peeky }

How was your weekend? Mine involved some good food (thanks to dineLA at FIG) and a triple-header, OC/LA/Long Beach, whirlwind engagement session extravaganza.

But! It turned out to be a breeze, because (as you can see below) these amazing couples make my job TOO EASY.

More to come soon!

{ pat + eugene | tree swing engagement }

So the progression of Adrienne Is Just Too Ridiculously Excited About This Session goes something like this:

Receive sweet inquiry from couple saying they were referred by a close friend {always such an honor!!}
Find out close friend is none other than wedding blogger extraordinaire (and my dear friend!) Lydia.
Meet with Pat & Eugene and find out they are all kinds of AWESOMESAUCE.
Also find out that Lydia will be helping style their engagement session.
And that it will have a tree swing.
And giant initials.
And hearts.
Scout out location for swing at Griffith Park with Lydia. Lots of swinging from branches to test ’em out.
Realize I know awesome talented people (thank you Scott!!!!) to help me build the swing. So we build it.
Shoot the session. Pat and Eugene are fun. They are sweet. They are so so in love and the photos practically make themselves.
Wake up this morning to find the photos featured on the beautiful & inspirational wedding blog 100 Layer Cake!!!
Do happy dance.
Blog.

Thank you so much to 100 Layer Cake for the feature & Ever Ours for introducing me to the sweetest couple and for bringing a beautiful vision to life. Be sure to drop by their blogs for more!

Pat’s gorgeous make-up was done by Kelly Zhang, always LOVE working with her!

{ dana + brandon | ojai engagement }

It starts with a scenic drive up the 101. You see a sign for “Ojai” and turn onto a narrower road, accompanied by sunny fields, tall trees, and the big open sky. You pass through the town, which gives way to farmland, endless orange groves, and an explosion of fall colors. And then, you arrive at the Thacher School.

Dana & Brandon recently moved onto the Thacher campus after living for years in NYC. The change from loud streets & busy sidewalks to a quiet home on campus was quite the drastic change, but they love their new life at Thacher. I was so excited to meet them in this quiet nook outside of Ojai and explore the lovely quaint campus with them. We shot just across the street from their house where Dana walks over daily to pick grapefruits & oranges off the trees, we visited their favorite pepper tree-lined road, we drove up to the tippy top of campus that houses the observatory. I always love love shooting in and around the homes of couples – there is always something so relaxed & intimate about these kinds of sessions!
