When I first met with Ann and Albert I was so excited to hear they were downtown Long Beach residents as well, and even more excited when they decided to do their engagement session in our shared neighborhood! We were blessed with perfect breezy weather and gorgeous light, and I loved the whole nautical feel of their session. One of my favorite parts of sessions is getting to know the couple better, and as we walked from place to place we chatted not just about their wedding, but also travel, music, and our mutual love of food :)

I had so much fun with Van and Chris for their session, it seriously felt like hanging out with old friends! As ridiculously good looking these two are on the outside, let me just tell you that they have the hearts to match – they’re some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet and are just as fun as these photos suggest! We started off at the LA Arboretum and finished up at the historic Colorado Bridge. I love how we were able to combine the whimsy of the garden with the more dramatic look of the bridge, while keeping it all tied together with that light-filled, romantic feel that I adore :)

Can’t wait for their pretty summer wedding next month!

Oh how I love a dreamy woods engagement session! Katy & Darius picked just the perfect spot to reflect their love of the outdoors and I love photographing them in such a quiet & tranquil spot. Also that pretty tulle skirt at the end? Katy handmade it right before the session! I seriously have the most creative & talented couples :)

Their wedding will take place also in a pretty woodsy spot up in the San Bernadino mountains and I can’t wait!
